Research Interests:
Dr. Morenoff’s research interests focus on neighborhood environments and population dynamics, community and economic development, crime and criminal justice policy, the social determinants of health, and methods for analyzing multilevel and spatial data. He is also one of the faculty leads of the Detroit Metro Area Communities Study (DMACS), an ongoing public opinion panel survey of Detroit households. DMACS revitalized the longstanding Detroit Area Study, linking rigorous, scientifically grounded methodology with the mission to use data to inform meaningful and effective community development investments in and around Detroit.
