Trajectories of Depressive Symptoms and Anxiety in Older Adults During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Weidi Qin

Weidi Qin conducts research on aging and health– more specifically, psychosocial coping resources of stress-health associations focusing on older adults. The rapid aging population has led to many health challenges among older adults. While older adults can embrace a much longer life expectancy due to medical advancement, the quality of life varies substantially across different health conditions and psychosocial status. The goal of my research to reduce the health disparities in late life and improve older adults’ health and well-being.
Qin used this funding to attend a U-M ICPSR summer workshop on group-based trajectory modeling allowing her to conduct the analyses for the project. With the support from the award, she was able to substantially advance her methodological expertise and increase my potential to contribute to the field of aging and health.
