Zheng Mu, Yu Xie

Xie Yu and Mu Zheng

Gansu Muslims are highly assimilated into Chinese culture, their most distinguishing characteristic from Han Chinese being their Islamic beliefs. This study, based on the 2005 Chinese inter-census survey (1% sample micro-data), survey data collected in Gansu Province in 2007, and qualitative interview data collected in 2008, provides an ethnicity-specific demographic portrait with a focus on family-related items.
