Perceptions of & Experiences with Mental Health (Care) among Undocumented Latinx Immigrants in a Protracted Anti-Immigrant Era
Monika Doshi
“As a result of the support from the Weinberg Endowments, I will be able to progress with my dissertation research related activities. The qualitative arm of dissertation research project, Perceptions of & Experiences with Mental Health (Care) among Undocumented Latinx Immigrants in a Protracted Anti-Immigrant Era, aims to understand mental health needs among undocumented Latinx immigrants in a protracted anti-immigrant sociopolitical milieu, underscored more recently by the global pandemic, to identify unmet mental health needs, contribute to improved services, and inform policy efforts. Specifically, I will use the funding support from the Weinberg Endowments to implement two qualitative studies – one with undocumented Latinx individuals in mental health care and one with behavioral health care providers – in partnership with federally qualified health centers in Connecticut.”
