Recipients of PSC Small Grant Awards

We will host guest speakers from the Fragile Families Challenge (FFC) to a panel discussion with ISR members conducting related research. FFC is a significant paradigm shift for the social sciences, combining traditional survey panel data (Fragile Families) with data science methodology (a Kaggel style competition). It highlights a number of timely concerns for the future of demographic research, including: 1) large team collaborations, 2) emerging methods for thorny substantive questions, and 3) an emphasis to the predictive utility of models.
