Cohabitation, marriage experiences, relationship instabilities and mental health across the life course
Zhang Yang
My research focuses on examining the diverging trajectories of cohabitation and marriage experiences by social groups and how relationship instabilities (including cohabitation and marriage union formation and dissolution) shape health and mental health trajectories across the life course. My research is inspired by my research assistant experiences with Professor William G. Axinn on examining the social determinant of mental disorders. I hope to reveal the association between the diverging pattern of cohabitation and marriage experiences and diverging mental health/health trajectories, in order to lessen mental health inequality through family and relationship solutions.
