Saheel Chodavadia

About:
Saheel Chodavadia is a PhD Student in Economics and Public Policy at the University of Michigan and a graduate trainee at the University of Michigan Population Studies Center.
Saheel’s research interests lie at the intersection of maternity and infancy, climate change, and health. He is interested in identifying the causal effect of industrial growth on maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, disaggregated by race and socioeconomic status and through cross-country comparative analyses. Particularly, he hopes to disentangle the competing effects of economic development and pollution engendered by industrial growth.
Saheel previously worked as a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Harvard Business School. He has a BS in Economics from Duke University and an MS in Economics from the London School of Economics.
