About:
Farida Bibi Mughal is a research fellow at the Center for Global Health Equity. She completed her doctorate at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, conducting research on trauma recovery among South Asian immigrant women who have experienced intimate partner violence. Her dissertation explored how self-awareness, meaning in life, and resilience function as protective factors in how these women recover from trauma. By identifying these strengths and leveraging culturally relevant insights, she aims to create evidence-based interventions that support healing.
