Emma Banchoff
About:
Emma Banchoff (she/her) is a graduate student in Sociology and a demography predoctoral trainee at the U-M Population Studies Center. Her research interests lie at the intersections of population and environmental dynamics, social epidemiology, fertility, and family change, with a particular focus on intergenerational relationships and mental health. Emma Banchoff holds a B.A. in Anthropology, Yale University (2016) and an MSc in Demography and Health, The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2019).
An ISR Next Generation scholar, Emma Banchoff won Marshall Weinberg Fellowships in 2023 and 2024, for the projects, “Family Formation in Times of Uncertainty: Gender, Work, and the Transition to Adulthood,” and “Community and Environmental Change in Nepal: Implications for Livelihoods and Family Formation.”
