Cynthia Buckley is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and an adjunct research professor affiliated with the University of Michigan Population Studies Center. Professor Buckley was previously a faculty member of both the Department of Sociology and Eurasian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin and also served as a Program Director at the Social Science Research Council (2010-2012). Dr. Buckley received a BA in Economics and an M.A. in Russian Studies before completing her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan.
