Work by Couper, Farley et al. shows impact of racial composition on neighborhood choice

This piece explores the influence of race, rather than income, on neighborhood choice – and specifically the tendency for affluent black Americans to live in poor, segregated communities. Citing 2009 work by Maria Krysan, Mick Couper, Reynolds Farley and Tyrone Forman, the author says: “Nationally, black and white families of similar incomes still live in separate worlds.”
