Willis and colleagues find link between numeracy skills and family wealth

Using data on married couples from the HRS, Robert Willis, James Smith, and John McArdle found that scores on a simple numeracy-related skills test were highly related to average household wealth. Numeracy is the ability to reason with numbers. The findings are published in the November 2010 issue of *The Economic Journal.*
