U-M affirms commitment to international students and faculty

In the wake of a U.S. executive order banning immigration and travel of people from many Muslim-majority countries, University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel issued a statement that U-M will not release immigration status information on its students. Further, Schlissel said: “The leadership of the university is committed to…do[ing] whatever is possible within the law to continue to identify, recruit, support and retain academic talent, at all levels, from around the world.”
