**Nelson Saldaña** and **Sarah Seelye**, both PSC trainees in sociology, were awarded grants from the PSC Alumni Graduate Student Support Fund. Saldaña’s work integrates cultural factors and spatial analyses into demographic methods to determine how their combination can be used to assess neighborhood change. Seelye is conducting field research in a depopulated Detroit neighborhood to examine mobility decisions and sense of place among those in neighborhoods with significant population loss. In addition, **Ellen Compernolle**, also a trainee in sociology, was awarded a Marshall Weinberg Population, Development, and Climate Change Fellowship for her work on how male labor migration to Persian Gulf countries is affecting family dynamics and local resources in Nepal.
