Along with 23 other scientists, social innovators, artists, and humanists, Susan Murphy has been awarded a 2013 MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. This prestigious award, with its no-strings attached stipend of $625,000, supports the work of “creative individuals with track records of achievement and the potential for even more significant contributions in the future.” Murphy is cited for her work developing new methods that evaluate treatment courses for chronic conditions and that allow researchers to test the efficacy of adaptive interventions in clinical trials.
