Study by Freedman, Wolf and Spillman cited in discussion of changing socioeconomic expectations for older Americans

Discussing a change over the past several decades in the relative longevity and old-age disability of American men and women, Howard Gleckman cites the work of Vicki Freedman, Douglas Wolf, and Brenda Spillman, which shows “a longer, more active old age for men that now nearly mirrors women’s.” These new findings suggest social changes as well, says Gleckman.
