Smock comments on ‘stayover’ relationships in NYT

In this NYT story Pamela Smock comments on a type of living arrangement called ‘stayovers’ by the researchers who identified it. Stayovers form out of convenience rather than commitment and do not involve merging of resources the way cohabitating does. While Smock says that national data indicate about 15% of cohabiters don’t spend every night together, she says this is the first study she’s seen that has named this phenomenon.
