Skolarus, Burke et al. find many older Americans are at risk for obstructive sleep apnea, but few are tested and treated

Using NHATS data, Lesli Skolarus, James Burke and colleagues analyzed the prevalence, treatment, and risk factors for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) among community-dwelling Medicare participants 65 years of age and older. They estimated that 56% of their sample were at risk for OSA, but only 8% of the high-risk individuals had been tested for it.
