Sasha Killewald and Margaret Gough win PAA’s Dorothy Thomas Award

Sasha Achen Killewald, PSC trainee and PhD student in the joint program in Public Policy and Sociology, and Margaret Gough, PSC trainee and PhD student in sociology, won the 2010 Dorothy S. Thomas Award for their paper: “Revisiting Relative Resources and Gender Display: The Trouble with Assuming Linearity.” The paper looks at the relationship between women’s earnings and their allocation of time to housework. The award is made annually by the Population Association of America in recognition of for “the best graduate student paper on the interrelationships among social, economic and demographic variables.” The Award consists of a cash prize and a certificate, presented at the PAA Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX, April 16, 2010.
