Sarah Burgard and Shige Song win ASA’s 2010 Distinguished Sociology of Population Paper Award

Sarah Burgard and Shige Song (Queens College, CUNY) were awarded ASA’s 2010 Distinguished Sociology of Population Paper Award for their paper: “Does Son Preference Influence Children’s Growth in Height? A Comparative Study of Chinese and Filipino Children.” *Population Studies* 62(3): 305-320.The award will be given at the Population Section Awards and Reception Gathering at the ASA meetings in Atlanta on Monday, August 16th.
