Ryan says being suspended from school increases chances of spending time in corrections system

A panel of Washtenaw County, MI experts on school discipline and law enforcement met to discuss the so-called “school-to-prison pipeline” and how it contributes to inequality in America. PSC faculty associate and panelist Joseph Ryan said: “There’s a lot of evidence to suggest that when we alienate youth from public school settings, they’re more likely to use their time in ways that aren’t as productive.”
