PSID data show adults whose parents owned homes are 3 times more likely to own than adults whose parents rented

Trulia, an online home real estate and rental listing service, used PSID data to analyze how family history of home ownership may figure into adult children’s decision to buy or rent their own home. Controlling for income and age, Trulia found adults whose parents owned a home were almost three times more likely to buy a home than adults whose parents rented.
