Patrick and colleagues analyze high-intensity drinking among adolescents

Using data from the Monitoring the Future study, Megan Patrick and colleagues assessed the prevalence among 8th and 10th graders of drinking 10 or more drinks in a row – termed high-intensity drinking – over the prior 2 weeks. They found about 2% reported this behavior, with higher prevalence among 10th graders, males, and those who smoked cigarettes or marijuana than among their counterparts.
