Needham, Hicken, Mitchell and colleagues link maternal social disadvantage and newborn telomere length

Using archived dried blood spots from the Michigan Neonatal Biobank, the study reported in this article examined associations between newborn telomere length and maternal social disadvantage (as measured by educational attainment, receipt of public assistance, marital status, and race/ethnicity) in a sample of 192 non-Hispanic black, non-Hispanic white, and Latina mothers aged 20–35 years.
