For this year’s rankings, *USN&WR* analyzed more than 1,200 graduate programs across 15 specialties. In addition to its third place ranking in sociology (tied with Princeton), Michigan was ranked in [5 other grad programs](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-humanities-schools/department-of-sociology-170976) in this specialty area.
