As the approximately 800,000 young people enrolled in DACA face deportation at any time, PSC trainee Aresha Martinez-Cardosa is concerned about the health consequences of the insecurity and stress this places on these youth, as well as their families and other close supporters. Her recent research on birth outcomes among infants born to Latina mothers indicates the potential adverse health effects of immigration policy and enforcement.
