Levy says Detroiters’ pain of losing retiree health benefits will be softened by insurance exchanges

In an effort to pay down debt, Detroit’s Emergency Manager has said the city may end health care coverage for retired employees younger than 65. Helen Levy says that these retirees should be concerned, but not panicked because insurance plan exchanges, once up and running in Michigan, will provide good coverage and financial protection.
