Langa, Iwashyna et al. find decreased functionality among heart attack and stroke survivors decade after event

Although more people are surviving heart attacks and stroke, a new study by Deborah Levine, Dimitry Davydow,Catherine Hough, Kenneth Langa, Mary A.M. Rogers, andTheodore Iwashyna finds that functional limitations experienced immediately following the event increase during the following decade. The authors conclude that these survivors should be screened for and helped with functional disability over the long term.
