Langa et al find optimism linked to decreased cognitive impairment in those 65 years and older

In a 4-year study of Americans aged 65-plus, Kenneth Langa and colleagues found that optimism was associated with a reduced likelihood of developing cognitive impairment (CI) over the course of the study. And the greater the optimism, the smaller the likelihood of CI. These associations remained after adjusting for health behaviors, biological factors, and psychological covariates.
