Kruger says reports of phantom mobile phone ringing/vibrating more common among anxious

Some mobile phone users report hearing ringing and/or feeling vibrations from their phone when no call or message has actually come in. In a recent study, Daniel Kruger and Jaikob Djerf found that people with attachment anxiety – worries about being abandoned or having unreciprocated feelings toward another – experience more of these phantom phone activations than others.
