Krause says optimism higher in older people who believe others are praying for them

Several recent studies have found that those who believe people close to them are engaged in prayer on their behalf are more likely to feel optimism, even in the face of daunting adversity. Neal Krause comments on the results of two national studies of older people and intercessionary prayer: “The findings indicate that this uniquely religious form of helping behavior makes it easier for older people to cope with the problems they face.”
