Johnston says more teens recognize dangers of synthetic marijuana

Lloyd Johnston says the percent of teens who say they’ve used synthetic marijuana — for example, K2 and Spice — dropped from 11% in 2012 to 8% in 2013. “The message has gotten out that these are dangerous drugs,” says Johnston. “Their ever-changing ingredients can be unusually powerful. Users really don’t know what they are getting.”
