John Casterline, PSC Training alumnus, to deliver Presidential Address for the Population Association of America (PAA)

John Casterline will deliver the Presidential address on “Childbearing as Choice” at PAA’s Annual Meeting in Austin, TX, on April 12, 2019. He serves as the current PAA President.He received his doctoral training at the Michigan Population Studies Center with the mentorship of Albert Hermalin, Ronald Freedman, and Eva Mueller.Dr. Casterline is Director, Institute for Population Research, and Professor of Sociology at OSU.Dr. Casterline focuses on social demography and quantitative methods. His current research focuses on fertility theory and methods, demographic transition in low-income societies, demography of sub-Saharan Africa and the Arab region, and social networks and demographic processes.
