Jackson comments on $2.7 million grant from NIA for Michigan Center for Urban African American Aging Research

James Jackson says the NIA funding to the Institute of Gerontology will benefit MCUAAAR’s ongoing support for minority researchers. MCUAAAR works through scholarship, education and outreach to investigate why older urban minorities suffer from poorer health than their Caucasian counterparts. Center faculty members mentor junior minority scholars to encourage high-quality research into issues affecting aging and ethnicity.
