Donald C. Pelz, a founding member of the Institute for Social Research, died on Feb. 27, 2016 at the age of 94. He was a professor of psychology at U-M from 1948 to 1987. At ISR, he was a member of the Survey Research Center and director of the Center for Research on Utilization of Scientific Knowledge (CRUSK), 1974-79. From 1956 to 1976, he published a series of books and articles on the social factors associated with scientific performance. His most widely cited work is a 1966 book coauthored with Frank Andrews, *Scientists in Organizations: Productive Climates for Research and Development.*
