ISR’s recent addition to its Thompson Street structure was awarded a green building certification (LEED Gold) from the U.S. Green Building Council. This certificate recognizes ISR’s use of local building materials, the efforts made to protect/restore the site, the roof planted with native grasses, the use of low-VOC finishes, and the recycling of construction waste. The addition was funded by the National Institutes of Health, U-M, and ISR.
