June 04, 2025

Congratulations to Grace Noppert – she has been awarded with a Research Faculty Recognition Award from the University of Michigan Office of the Vice President for Research.

Arthur Lupia, interim VP for research and innovation, says, “The outstanding achievements of these faculty demonstrate the impact and importance of the work that takes place throughout the University of Michigan.”

Part of SRC’s Social Environment & Health program, Noppert’s research focuses on how social factors shape individual health over time. One of her unique contributions is her work on neighborhood context and how it shapes both risk and resilience to health promoting and health harming processes.

Megan Patrick said in her nominating letter, “Dr. Noppert is a highly productive researcher engaging in ground-breaking research across disciplines. Her work inherently addresses social inequality by highlighting the differential risk for and consequences of early exposure to pathogens on lifelong health and aging.”
