Frey says white population is growing in Detroit and other large cities

Census Burea data indicate that the white population of Detroit grew measurably in 2014 – for the first time since 1950. William Frey says he was skeptical at first. “We have this long history of white declines in cities,” but more analysis convinced him “there was something going on.” He found that among the 50 largest U.S. cities, nearly half had gained a significant number of whites from 2010 to 2014.
