Frey says large percent of well-educated movers to large U.S. cities are from Asia and Europe

Analyzing census data on Americans’ county-to-county residential moves, William Frey finds that many of the highly educated 25+ year-old movers to metro hubs such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington DC are from outside the U.S. — mostly from Asia and Europe. On the other hand, a large percentage of these movers who have less than a high school diploma are from Central America.
