Frey says China is source country of most new U.S. immigrants

In 2013, the top origin country for U.S. immigrants was China, with about 147,000, followed by India with 129,000, and Mexico with 125,000. And together, these groups comprise only a third of the 1.2 million immigrants who arrived in 2013. William Frey says that the social, economic, and cultural implications are just starting to surface, but by 2044 – when he projects a ‘minority majority’ – in America – minority populations will shape U.S. society.
