Fomby says stepfathers/father figures less likely to invest in children than biological fathers in intact families

Paula Fomby says that some evidence suggests that ‘sequential parent figures’ are less likely to invest in household children than biologically related adults. These reasons include unclear parental roles and, for males, obligations to children fathered with other women.
