Farley comments on “black flight” from Detroit and other rust belt cities

In this video, Reynolds Farley comments on the loss of population in Detroit, as well as other predominantly black, Rust Belt manufacturing cities such as Cleveland and Buffalo. “We are still a manufacturing nation,” says Farley. “But we use relatively few workers to produce products anymore.” As middle-class residents of these areas are leaving for the suburbs, the inner cities cities are left with a poorer, less educated population, he says.
