Eisenberg says college athletes much less likely than other students to seek help with mental health conditions
July 25, 2017
Daniel Eisenberg has found that about 33% of all college students experience significant symptoms of mental health conditions (mostly anxiety or depression) and, of these, about 30% seek help. But the fraction of student-athletes with symptoms who seek help is only 10%. Eisenberg directs the Healthy Minds Network for Research on Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health and is PI of the Athletes Connected project.
