Ehrlich: Most vision loss is preventable or treatable

September 05, 2018

The National Poll on Healthy Aging released a report after surveying a sample of adults between the ages of 50–80 about their vision and their experiences getting eye care. The poll suggests that primary care providers could play an important role in promoting vision care. The poll was conducted by the University of Michigan Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation and sponsored by AARP and Michigan Medicine. Joshua Ehrlich says “For those with risk factors like diabetes and certain other medical conditions or a family history of eye disease, receiving regular eye care could be key to avoiding vision loss.”
