Davis Daumler named 2019 Morgan Fellow by UM-ISR

July 23, 2019

PSC Trainee Davis Daumler has been named a 2019 Morgan Fellow by ISR. Daumler, a Ph.D. candidate in Sociology works with Dr. Fabian Pfeffer, and will use the PSID to gain a better understanding of the dynamics of poverty in the U.S. in order to determine who is most at risk of persistent hardship. The James Morgan Innovation in the Analysis of Economic Behavior Fund encourages U-M graduate students to use the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) data in new and original ways. Whereas the Monitoring the Future surveys teenagers specifically, PSID data surveys families and family members throughout their lives: from childhood, to adulthood, through aging. To continue his spirit of substantive and methodological innovation in the analysis of economic behavior, Jim and his family established this fund to help graduate students in their research and use of PSID data.
