Danziger and Pollack question House proposal to allow states to drug test SNAP recipients

August 22, 2013

In response to a proposal from House Republicans to cut SNAP and allow the drug testing of recipients, Sheldon Danziger and Harold Pollack looked at whether food stamp recipients were more likely than non-recipients to use illicit substances. Instead, poor families who seek a little help with the food money are being used as stage extras in a different, nasty ideological fight.”
