Buchmueller weighs in on potential effects of cutting back on Medicaid plans expanded under ACA

What are the potential impacts of decreasing coverage under Medicaid expansion plans implemented with ACA funding? Among other effects, Thomas Buchmueller is concerned about hospital stay expenses. Over the past few years, he says, “the average hospital saw uncompensated care fall by 40-45 percent. That’s a sizable fraction of the care provided to low income people that they’re now being compensated for.”
