Brown comments on claims about the economic impact of small business

Despite the federal government’s embrace of small business as a way to create jobs, a Census Bureau report found that, after controlling for age, small companies don’t create jobs any faster than big ones do. As Charles Brown says: “It’s hard for me to tell a story where small business has some magical power except for the fact that it’s young.” Brown has studied and written about the differences between small and large businesses.
