Anderson is the former chair of the U.S. Census Scientific Advisory Committee and PSC Research Professor.Very early in the Trump administration, top officials talked about resurrecting something that hadn’t been done since 1950: putting a question on the census form asking “Is this person a citizen of the United States?” That policy idea turned into reality, triggering a flurry of lawsuits. This past Tuesday, a federal judge struck down the citizenship question.
