Bailey and Danziger’s War on Poverty book reviewed in NY Review of Books

The reviewer says the nine studies comprising *Legacies of the War on Poverty*, edited by Martha Bailey and Sheldon Danziger, are “packed with evidence” and “make judicious judgments” about the relative success of the anti-poverty programs initiated by Lyndon Johnson. The reviewer also discusses Bailey and Danziger’s positions on how to measure poverty and judge the success of programs such as Head Start or food stamps.
